Patricia Newton has been a resident of the Central Coast of
California for over twenty years.
Artistic
expression often curtailed by the demands of an ongoing full time career.
Patricia has painted for her own enjoyment.
When permitted she showed her paintings with other artists
and donated her creativity to local organizations and charity.
After several years, Patricia Newton has
begun a journey of discovery. Patricia now paints full time in her
studio.
In doing so, she has found a deep
love of the sea it's creatures and delights in the ever changing skies above
this majestic and beautiful countryside of the Central Coast, reflected in
her award winning art.
The rugged
coastline, lakes, vineyards and sunsets lend a many beautiful subject for
the canvas as well as the peace they all add to her world. Her desire
is to share those same peaceful feelings and the joy of life that surround
us in nature.
In addition to land and seascape works, Patricia
Newton also enjoys
recreating the depth, beauty and wisdom she portrays in Portraits entrusted
to her. Many of
these works have been completed by using a glazing technique.
Several thin layers of oil paint that lend a translucent effect.
